Bad Mother[]
Paul Demeter has restored Charlie Manx’s Rolls Royce Wraith, but he has taken out the engine and filled the space with sunflowers. Bing manages to track it down, under the guise Ethan Anderson. A Rolls Royce enthusiast. Paul tells Bing that the preview will be at the cafe, where he can discuss sales with the gallery assistant. Paul explains to Bing that the Wraith was owned by a ruthless serial killer and that he purchased it at a police auction a few months ago. The Wraith will be for sale next week for $150,000. They are interrupted by Paul's son, Mike, who complains about having to go with his mom for his step-brother’s birthday, who he hates. Bing says that he doesn’t like sleepovers either as friends can be mean. He tells them about Vic McQueen, who told lies about him. Paul then gives Bing a flyer and sends him on his way.
Bing stalks Paul’s house. He waits for the perfect opportunity and confronts the man, spraying him with gingerbread smoke, rendering him unconscious. Bing has Paul under the influence of gingerbread smoke, and he is now susceptible to suggestion. Bing rapes Paul, then orders him to help lower the engine into the Wraith. Once the engine is in place, Manx’s heart beats once again.
Good Father[]
Bing gets a call from Charlie Manx, who tells him to put a child in the Wraith and to meet him at Sleigh House. Do that, and the Wraith will start on its own and drive Bing to him.
Bing arrives at Paul Demeter’s ex-wife’s house to pick up Mike, claiming that Paul sent him. Bing finds Mike locked in a dog cage. Bing asks who is responsible for this, and Mike reveals that it was his step-brother Eric. Bing finds Eric watching porn with his friends and demands the key to the cage.
Bing releases Mike from the cage and takes him to his car. Bing tells Mike that it’s okay if he wants to cry. He used to cry a lot. He used to think he was so big because he had so much sad in him. But then he realized that a frown is just an upside down smile and he looks at everything like that now. Mike reveals how he’s constantly tortured by Eric, who has even made him drink his pee before. Bing offers to go back inside and kill Eric, but Mike tells him not to, as Bing would be arrested, and Mike would have no one to talk with. Bing then tells Mike about Christmasland and how he’ll have friends forever.
Bing puts Mike in the back of the Wraith and tells him that it’s a magical car, comparable to Santa’s sleigh. Bing gets inside the Wraith, but it won’t start. He checks the engine, but the Wraith refuses to start. Eventually, the Wraith turns on.
Bing arrives at the Sleigh House with Mike in the backseat, only to find Manx bleeding out on the ground. Bing helps Manx to his feet and drags him to the Wraith. Upon entering the vehicle and grabbing ahold of the steering wheel, Manx heals almost instantly. He looks back to Mike and asks if he’s ready for the ride of his life. Mike smiles, baring his extremely sharp teeth.
Manx stops on the road to Christmasland and reminds Bing of their deal that he can only enter Christmasland after helping save ten children. Bing reminds Manx that he saved his life. While this is true, Manx questions if Bing had any doubts of his return. Bing admits that he was doubtful at times. And so, Manx hands Bing a flashlight and tells him to take the northward path and wait for him there.
Manx reconvenes with Bing in the Graveyard of What Might Be. They stand over Wayne’s grave and state that he’ll need saving above all the other children.
The Night Road[]
The lights begin to flicker outside of Carmody's Car Carma as Bing pulls up. Wayne informs his father that a customer has arrived as he plays basketball outside. Lou greets Bing, who claims that his bike isn’t working and is looking for assistance. Lou invites Bing inside his office to talk further.
Lou hands Bing back his ID, who has been living under the guise Ethan Anderson for the last eight years. As Lou heads outside to investigate Bing’s bike, he discovers that Wayne is missing and calls out to him. Bing offers to take his bike elsewhere if Lou doesn’t have time for him. Lou insists that won’t be necessary and hops on the back of the truck, where he sees Bing’s gas equipment in his backseat. Lou claims that he’s calling his supplier but in actuality calls Vic, but she doesn’t answer. Lou leaves her a coded message, telling Vic to check on a "1048 Fairbanks." He then asks Bing to help loosen the straps on the bike and hits hit him across the face with the strap, knocking him to the ground. Lou jumps off the back of the truck and falls to the ground as Bing grabs his leg. Lou kicks Bing in the face and runs off, calling out to Wayne.
The Lake House[]
Manx awakens in his Wrath to find Bing standing just a few feet away. He tells Bing to get the gas. It’s time to load up the Wraith. However, before they can leave, The House of Sleep Two is uncovered by Agent Hutter. She enters the not-so abandoned church in search of Bing. Inside, she finds a shrine of newspaper articles regarding Manx. Agent Hutter heads into the basement with her gun drawn. She is attacked by Bing from behind. Though he outweighs her in size and strength, she manages to fight back. Using a candle holder to her advantage. She knocks Bing to the ground and recovers her gun. She hits him with her pistol and handcuffs him. However, Bing is not alone. Manx arrives and strikes her in her left shoulder with the bone hammer he stole from the autopsy lab. Hutter manages to draw her gun and shoot Manx in the head. She pulls herself to her feet and limps outside of the church.
Bruce Wayne McQueen[]
Bing arrive at the Lake house and pumps gas inside, forcing Lou and Wayne to flee. Bing ambushes Lou, knocking him out with the gingerbread smoke. Wayne runs towards the road with Bing chasing after him. He grabs Wayne by his arm and lifts him into the air. Wayne bites Bing, who screams in pain and tells Wayne that "your ass is grass." Manx calls out to Bing and demands that he bring Wayne to him. Wayne reluctantly enters the Wraith, and Manx tells him that his wildest dreams are about to come true. Suddenly, Vic arrives and screams out "Manx! Let him go."
Manx gets into the Wraith and runs Vic over. Wayne watches as this unfolds. He bangs on the window and calls out to his mom, who lays hurt on the ground. Bing warns Wayne that "boys who make filthy noise get no toys," and "boys who yelp get no help." Manx tells Bing to put Wayne down for a nap. He doesn’t want the boy to see what comes next. Bing asks to come with, as he too wishes to have fun with Vic. Manx orders Bing to stay in the car and take care of Wayne. And then, he’ll have all the fun he can handle when they get to Christmasland. Bing becomes ecstatic. He wishes to ride the Sleigh Coaster with Mike and drink hot cocoa. Manx promises that there will be a feast beyond Bing’s imagination upon his arrival at Christmasland.
Manx exits the Wraith, and Wayne continues to beat and bang on the window. Bing tells Wayne to quiet down or else he’ll shoot him. He then threatens to bite Wayne back. Adding that Wayne has the pretty face of a girl, but that it wouldn’t be so pretty if he bit Wayne’s cheek off and spat it out on the floor. Wayne retorts that Manx would be mad if Bing hurt him. Bing remarks that Wayne is nothing like Mike. Bing allows Wayne to watch as Manx beats Vic over the back with the hammer. He adds that when Manx is done, he’ll have his turn with Vic. Bing then puts Wayne to sleep and exits the Wraith, as Vic gains the upper hand against Manx. He opens fire at Vic and chases her into the lake.
Bing fires several shots into the lake. Vic remains hidden underwater. Unbeknownst to Bing, Vic swims to the dock, emerging just beneath his feet. He asks if she remembers their time together in the House of Sleep. Every time it rains, he thinks about the fun they had together and how much he still has to teach her about being a good mom. He adds that Wayne is naughty as well, but at least Manx will teach him how to be nice. Bing realizes that Vic is beneath him and begins shooting. However, he is taken down by a single shot from Chris, who then turns his attention towards Manx and begins shooting. Bing gets back to his feet and limps towards Chris just as Manx gets in the Wraith and drives off without him. And so, Bing is forced to retreat into the woods.
The Hourglass[]
After being left behind at the lake house, Bing tracks Manx down to a junkyard and sprays him with gingerbread smoke. Within seconds, Manx is on the ground and unconscious. Bing proceeds to disrupt the engine of the Wraith before dragging Manx’s body away.
Cripple Creek[]
Taking a few steps back to the day that Bing was shot by Chris McQueen at the Lake house and left for dead by Manx. He scurries off into the woods as the cops arrive. He takes refuge in a cemetery near an angel headstone and asks God for guidance. He wonders why he isn’t on the nice list and why Manx left him behind. He starts to suspect he was abandoned and asks for a sign, which comes in the sign of bird droppings. He soon discovers that he’s not alone in the cemetery. A gravedigger offers to help. Instead, Bing hits him over the head with his gas tank and strangles the man before throwing him into a grave and stealing his truck.
Bing arrives at one of Manx’s hideouts — a scrapyard, where he discovers Manx resting inside the Wraith with Wayne. As Manx exits the Wraith, Bing sneaks up behind him and gases him, rendering Manx unconscious within seconds. Manx awakens in a garage, old, weak, and chained to a support beam. He claims that he was worried for Bing’s well-being after their encounter with Vic, but Bing isn’t convinced, even as Manx claims that saving children is their purpose. Bing explains that he disconnected the ignition coil to the Wraith, so Manx won't be going anywhere, as it’s time they had a talk. Bing puts on his gas mask and sprays Manx with the gingerbread smoke in hopes of getting the truth from him.
Bing asks Manx about his old assistant, Peter Ives. Manx replies that he died, along with the two previous assistants before him, Cardinal O'Byrne and Dewey Hansom. Bing tells Manx to clarify. Manx threw O’Byrne from the Wraith and fed Hansom to the children. Given that Bing helped save four children and brought Manx back to life, he wonders if he’s going to Christmasland. Under the influence of the gingerbread smoke, Manx reveals that he was never taking Bing to Christmasland.
Bing tortures Manx, striking him multiple times. He gave up everything for Christmasland only to discover that Manx never had any intent on taking him. Hoping to calm Bing, Manx tells him how special he is and how important their mission is. The children are in danger and they need to be saved, including Wayne. Bing isn’t convinced and continues beating Manx.
Manx wakes up, still chained to the support beam. He tells Bing that it’s because he’s special that he can’t go to Christmasland. Manx tells Bing about his mother and how’d she provide food but starve them of dignity. Back then, there was a man that was like a father to Manx. He tempted him with praise and work. The man, Mr. Tim, used and mishandled Manx like Bing’s father mishandled him. And his mother did nothing to stop him. That’s what makes them special. They’re children unsaved. Innocence stolen. They’d have no place in Christmasland. But they still have to save those who still have time. The moment Manx got Bing’s letter, he knew Bing would be more than an assistant — he would be a partner. Manx hopes that Bing still believes in the mission. Bing is fooled by Manx’s charm and wit and agrees to continue their mission, starting with repairing the Wraith.
Bing lifts the hood to the Wraith, but then notices Wayne inside, who is noticeably ill. Wayne cries out for his mom, explaining to Bing that he and Manx are the ones responsible for his pain, not Vic. Bing slams the hood of the Wraith down, realizing that Manx is a liar. Bing returns to the garage and accuses Manx of making Wayne sick. Manx claims that Wayne will be fine once they get him to Christmasland. Bing doesn’t believe him. "Charlie, Charlie telling lies. Soon he will be crying cries." Bing recalls what happened to Mike. Manx gets better while the kids get sick. Bing calls Manx a bad father and offers to show him how to be a good father. The same way he taught Paul Demeter. He says that Paul knew just what to do with his mouth.
Manx demands to know what Bing did to the Wraith. He felt it move. When Bing doesn’t respond, Manx reminds him that he’s all Bing has. Bing retorts that he has the Gas Mask Man. He was just a janitor in Haverhill hiding from his past, but Manx freed him, and now, he knows what to do with monsters. He unchains Manx from the support beam, but his hands and feet remain duct taped. He throws Manx to the ground and says "Bitch, bitch, go to sleep. Take a nap while I love you deep." Manx reminds Bing that he brought him the children willingly. No one told him that Paul Demeter was a bad father. The Graveyard of What Might Be never showed that Mike needed to be saved. Bing had no great purpose to rape Paul and steal his son. He used him to get into Christmasland and destroyed families to satisfy his urges. Manx argues that if he deserves death then Bing deserves worse. Bing agrees that he too is a monster before spaying Manx with the gingerbread smoke. Bing then drags Manx’s body out of the garage and puts him in the back of the Wraith, which is parked on a compactor.
Bing puts Manx in the Wraith and tells him that soon there will be two less monsters in the world. Manx worries about his children. If he dies, so will the Christmasland children, however, Bing isn't convinced. Wayne stands outside of the Wraith, unfazed by the ordeal. Almost in a trance. Bing slams the Wraith door shut and goes to turn on the controls for the compactor. He tells Wayne to find the police and tells them that his mother is Vic McQueen. Hearing her name snaps Wayne back to reality and he replies that her favorite movie is Jaws. Bing wants Wayne to also tell Vic that he’s sorry and that they won’t have to worry about Charlie Manx anymore. Bing turns on the compactor, turns up the pressure on the gas tank and throws it in the back with Manx. Wayne laughs from outside the Wraith as Manx pleads for help.
Bing gets into the passenger seat with his mask on as Manx becomes unconscious in the back. Bing tells Manx to say "I love you more than anything, Bing Partridge." Once Manx is knocked out, Bing takes his mask off and falls asleep along with him. However, Wayne stops the compactor from crushing the Wraith and wakes Manx up and frees him of his restraints. Bing awakens just as Manx plugs the ignition coil back up to the Wraith. Bing stumbles out the passenger seat and crawls away.
Bing stumbles to his truck with Manx not far behind. Manx stabs him in the stomach with a sharp pole and admits that he lied to Bing when he told him he was special. He throws Bing to the ground and tells him that he will die there unless the police find him first. In fact, prison is a better place for Bing than hell. He asks that Bing thinks of him during Christmas time.
Chris McQueen[]
Vic and Chris ride the Shorter Way to a junkyard, where they find Bing laid against his truck, dying from being stabbed with a pole. Wheezing for air, Bing reveals that they just missed Manx. He begs for help. Chris takes out his gun, pistols whips Bing, and applies so much pressure to his wound that he passes out, forcing Vic to intervene. Chris apologizes for losing control, but with Bing unconscious, Vic has no choice but to call for help.
Bing is taken into processing and later placed in interrogation. Tabitha interrogates Bing. He recalls her from their last encounter at the church and their initial encounter eight years before that in Haverhill. Bing asks to talk to Vic, but Tabitha brings up Bing’s past and his time spent in juvie. She assures him prison will be much worse. She then asks where to find Wayne. Tabitha tells Bing how she screwed up at her job and her bosses are mad at her. Bing can relate, explaining that Manx is always mad. Bing wishes he had never met Manx. He wouldn’t be sitting there in a police station, and Vic would still be his friend. Tabitha agrees to help Bing so long as he helps her.
Vic enters the interrogation room and asks Bing where to find Wayne. Bing apologizes for bringing Manx back to life and putting the engine back in the Wraith. He tried to save Wayne, but he failed. He asks if Vic remembers when they were friends. They used to trade comics, she recalls. She claims to miss the person she thought Bing was. Bing doesn’t have any friends now. He’s all alone and sorry for his actions. He asks if Vic can find it in her heart to forgive him. Vic grabs his hand and asks him where to find Wayne. Bing reveals that before they go to Christmasland, they must hang an ornament on a tree near Sleigh House. It’s the last stop before Christmasland.
Bats[]
After getting arrested and giving his confession Bing is sentenced to prison, where his cellmate is the Hourglass Man.[1]
