She’s fascinated by the horrible crimes he’s committed. She tells Hicks to ensure he gets a picture of Manx’s hands, as they are the tools of his trade.
Hicks enters the morgue and takes a photo of himself next to Manx’s body. The lights suddenly go off and he exits the morgue. He sends the photo to Sasha, but she reminds him that he was also supposed to take a photo of his hands. Ernie re-enters the morgue and finds that Manx is no longer on the autopsy table. Manx sneaks up from behind and bashes Hicks over the head with a silver hammer.
Sasha is a doctor at Jefferson Memorial Hospital. She makes a deal with Hick, a security guard at the hospital, to get her pictures of Charlie Manx's corpse in the morgue. She’s obsessed with serial killers and fascinated by the horrible crimes he allegedly committed. She tells Hicks to ensure he gets a picture of Manx’s hands, as they are the tools of his trade.
Charters was Horace Haber's servant. Flashback to many years prior. Charlie Manx and his wife Cassie return from seeing the Nosferatu film. Cassie compares Manx to Nosferatu and asks for Charters opinion though he has yet to see the film. Manx, in a jokingly fashion, puts two toothpicks in his mouth to resemble fangs. Cassie then asks about her father, who Charter tells her had gone to bed.
Chitra Surinam is an agent for the F.B.I. Tabitha cross-checked the alias that Bing gave to Lou with businesses that deal in sevoflurane. She found three places in Maine with gas on site who employ someone named Ethan Andersen. One of them could be Bing. Chitra argues that the attack happened in Colorado and that they have no reason to suspect that Bing is in Maine. Tabitha explains that Bing’s ID was from Maine. If she can get one of the businesses to ID him, they can retrieve his address and capture him. Chitra reminds Tabitha that women like them are few and far between in their field office. Last time she investigated Bing, she broke protocol and told her girlfriend confidential information. Tabitha insists that won’t happen again and that she’ll be smart.
Chitra visits Tabitha to ensure that she’s been getting rest, which she hasn’t. After what went down in the church between Tabitha and Bing, they’re superior officer, Daltry, wishes to speak with Tabitha. Chitra fears the worst for Tabitha, given that she moved on a known fugitive, in an unsecure location alone. Chitra wishes Tabitha the best of luck and then leaves, passing Maggie on her way out.
Bing is taken into processing and later placed in interrogation. Chitra, Daltry, and Tabitha stands on the other side of the window. Tabitha wants first crack at Bing and guarantees she can make him talk within ten minutes.
Chitra and Daltry call Tabitha into the interrogation room and congratulate her on the full confession from Bing. She even managed to prove that her relationship with Vic was beneficial. Next, they order a psych evaluation on Bing. As for Wayne, they suspect that Bing killed him and hid his body in the junkyard. They order Tabitha to coordinate with the field office and start an official search for the body. Lastly, Daltry gives Tabitha her badge back.
Agent Ash and Agent Chen
Agent Ash and Agent Chen were F.B.I agents assigned to protect Vic McQueen and her family from Bing Partridge, and unbeknownst to them, Charlie Manx. Agent Hutter hands them a folder containing information about the McQueens, as they’re to watch over them. They later arrive at Chris' lake house.
Agent Ash and Agent Chen pull over Jonathan Beckett, otherwise known as the Hourglass Man and instruct him to leave the area. He claims to be lost and asks for directions. He orders them to head down to the lake house and kill everyone inside except for Wayne. They draw their guns and order him to put his hands in the air. He raises his hand, only to show them the hourglass he holds. He flips it over and places it onto the dashboard. They appear to be completely under his control. Lastly, he tells them to make sure the boy isn’t touched and to kill themselves afterward.
They arrive at the lake house and open fire, shooting Chris in the leg, forcing him to take cover behind his truck, as he tries to explain that he’s the homeowner. Lou tells Wayne to get down, as he barricades the door, but Wayne watches from the window instead. Chris shoots and kills Agent Ash. Agent Chen approaches from the other side of the vehicle, however, the hourglass has nearly run out of sand, and so, Chen takes his own life as instructed, firing a single bullet.
Doctor Gregory is a doctor at the local hospital in Haverhill. He is approached by the Hourglass Man, who asks for a moment of his time before instructing him to kill Vic McQueen. And so, Doctor Gregory heads inside, grabs a needle containing an unknown substance and injects it into Vic’s blood bag, as she lays unconscious on the hospital bed. Maggie, who sits at Vic’s bedside, tries to inform the doctor that the nurses have already checked on Vic, but he is unresponsive. Suspecting that something is wrong, Maggie rips the IV out of Vic’s arm and then chases after Doctor Gregory, who locks himself inside a closet and objects himself with the needle. Maggie breaks the glass window and forces her way inside. She asks the doctor why he did this. In his final words, he asks Maggie to help him.
Daltry is an agent for the F.B.I. He takes over Vic's case after Agent Hutter is injured. When Vic is nearly killed by a doctor, he is scolded by Linda McQueen, who demands they do better to protect her daughter. After leaving the hospital, he meets with Tabitha at headquarters. She broke protocol and lost the fugitive, putting herself at risk in the process. He’s aware that Vic McQueen is a friend of Maggie’s. Given Vic’s history of mental health issues and substance abuse, he surmises that Vic maybe had a mental breakdown after learning of Manx’s death and went on a killing spree before abducting Wayne. However, Tabitha argues in Vic’s defense, informing Daltry that Vic would never. Daltry doesn’t believe that Tabitha is equipped to handle the case and asks her to turn in her badge and gun.
