Bad Mother[]
Haverhill, Massachusetts. eight years have passed, and Tabitha and Maggie have been in a happy, long term relationship. While taking photos of Tabitha, who is now an FBI agent, Maggie gets a call from Vic. They surmise that she’s calling after hearing of Manx’s death. Vic asks Maggie to ask her Tiles if Manx is truly dead, but Maggie no longer uses them.
The Night Road[]
Tabitha pulls some strings and arranges for Lou and Wayne to be escorted to the airport and brought to her home following their run in with Charlie Manx. Vic arrives and thanks Tabitha for helping her family.
The Lake House[]
Tabitha hands two F.B.I agents, Ash and Chen, a folder containing information about the McQueens, as they’re to watch over them. Maggie then reveals to Tabitha that she’s going with Vic. She intends to use her Tiles to predict when the Wraith is coming. Tabitha is worried, as Maggie has barely recovered from her last seizure. Maggie insists that she’s fine and reminds Tabitha that Vic needs her. Tabitha replies that there’s a cost for everything, including having Vic back in their lives. Maggie asks Tabitha to trust her and promises that she won’t do anything stupid. She then kisses Tabitha goodbye.
Tabitha cross-checked the alias that Bing gave to Lou with businesses that deal in sevoflurane. She found three places in Maine with gas on site who employ someone named Ethan Andersen. One of them could be Bing. Chitra argues that the attack happened in Colorado and that they have no reason to suspect that Bing is in Maine. Tabitha explains that Bing’s ID was from Maine. If she can get one of the businesses to ID him, they can retrieve his address and capture him. Chitra reminds Tabitha that women like them are few and far between in their field office. Last time she investigated Bing, she broke protocol and told her girlfriend confidential information. Tabitha insists that won’t happen again and that she’ll be smart.
Tabitha tracks Bing down to a clinic in Maine. A dentist recognizes him and informs Tabitha that he works as a janitor, but he disappeared last week. And all they have on him is a P.O. box. But the techs used to say that he lived in an abandoned church. There are several in the area. Tabitha then asks the dentist to take her to where they store Sevoflurane. They open the closet to find it completely empty despite getting a shipment just last night.
Tabitha stakes out one of many abandoned churches. She watches as Bing exits with a gas tank. She radios in for backup, but they’re 20 minutes away. And so, Tabitha goes in solo, ignoring Maggie’s call just before heading inside. Tabitha enters the not-so abandoned church in search of Bing. Inside, she finds a shrine of newspaper articles regarding Manx. Tabitha heads into the basement with her gun drawn. She is attacked by Bing from behind. Though he outweighs her in size and strength, she manages to fight back. Using a candle holder to her advantage. She knocks Bing to the ground and recovers her gun. She hits him with her pistol and handcuffs him. However, Bing is not alone. Manx arrives and strikes her in her left shoulder with the bone hammer he stole from the autopsy lab. Fortunately, Tabitha manages to draw her gun and shoot Manx in the head. She pulls herself to her feet and limps outside of the church, falling to the ground in pain.
Vic and Maggie arrive at the Sleigh House on the Shorter Way. Maggie rushes to find Tabitha, who is alive but is being hauled away on a stretcher. Maggie explains that she got scared when Tabitha didn’t call her back. Tabitha looks to Vic and sarcastically asks if she’s Maggie’s ride. Vic replies that she’s glad Tabitha is okay. Tabitha reveals that she had Bing and Manx, but they slipped away. Vic then gets a call from Lou, who reveals that Wayne has been talking to Manx in his dreams.
The Hourglass[]
Chitra visits Tabitha to ensure that she’s been getting rest, which she hasn’t. After what went down in the church between Tabitha and Bing, they’re superior officer, Daltry, wishes to speak with Tabitha. Chitra fears the worst for Tabitha, given that she moved on a known fugitive, in an unsecure location alone. Chitra wishes Tabitha the best of luck and then leaves, passing Maggie on her way out. Maggie tells Tabitha that her actions were brave, but Tabitha retorts they were stupid. Maggie recalls the two agents that tried to kill Chris and the doctor that just tried to kill Vic. She suspects this to be the work of another Strong Creative who has aligned himself with Manx. Though it’s risky, Maggie wants to use her Tiles to find him. Tabitha advises Maggie against it given that she’s prone to seizures, but Maggie goes through with it nonetheless.
Tabitha meets with Daltry at headquarters. She broke protocol and lost the fugitive, putting herself at risk in the process. He’s aware that Vic McQueen is a friend of Maggie’s. Given Vic’s history of mental health issues and substance abuse, he surmises that Vic maybe had a mental breakdown after learning of Manx’s death and went on a killing spree before abducting Wayne. However, Tabitha argues in Vic’s defense, informing Daltry that Vic would never. Daltry doesn’t believe that Tabitha is equipped to handle the case and asks her to turn in her badge and gun.
Maggie returns home to find Tabitha crying on the couch. She informs Tabitha that she found the Hourglass Man and destroyed his Knife. Tabitha reveals that Daltry took her off the case, as well as her gun and badge. Maggie assures Tabitha that they’ll stop Manx without the FBI. Tabitha inquires about the burn mark on Maggie’s arm, leading Maggie to explain that she’s found a way to eliminate her seizures and use her Tiles whenever she wants. Tabitha isn’t supportive of this. Maggie becomes defensive. She reminds Tabitha that she spent years without her Tiles because she loved her. She always felt something was missing but now she can use her Tiles whenever she pleases, adding that burning herself is a small price to pay. She asks that Tabitha support her because she’s never going to stop using her gift ever again, not for anyone.
Chris McQueen[]
Tabitha and Vic meet at the local precinct. She reveals that Bing woke up this morning and is out of surgery. No one at the hospital could get anything out of him. He simply kept asking for Vic. It’s been nearly 24 hours since they found him, and Vic doesn’t have much time left.
Bing is taken into processing and later placed in interrogation. Tabitha stands on the other side of the window with Chitra and Daltry. She wants first crack at Bing and guarantees she can make him talk within ten minutes.
Tabitha interrogates Bing. He recalls her from their last encounter at the church and their initial encounter eight years before that in Haverhill. Bing asks to talk to Vic, but Tabitha brings up Bing’s past and his time spent in juvie. She assures him prison will be much worse. She then asks where to find Wayne. Tabitha tells Bing how she screwed up at her job and her bosses are mad at her. Bing can relate, explaining that Manx is always mad. Bing wishes he had never met Manx. He wouldn’t be sitting there in a police station, and Vic would still be his friend. Tabitha agrees to help Bing so long as he helps her.
Tabitha tells Vic that Bing has confessed to several crimes, including kidnapping Wayne. Unfortunately, he refuses to give up any more information of Wayne’s whereabouts until he speaks with Vic. Chris and Linda advise her against it, but Lou tells her to do whatever feels right. And so Vic decides to speak with Bing.
Chitra and Daltry call Tabitha into the interrogation room and congratulate her on the full confession from Bing. She even managed to prove that her relationship with Vic was beneficial. Next, they order a psych evaluation on Bing. As for Wayne, they suspect that Bing killed him and hid his body in the junkyard. They order Tabitha to coordinate with the field office and start an official search for the body. Lastly, Daltry gives Tabitha her badge back.
As Tabitha is leaving the station, she notices Maggie in the SUV with Vic using her Tiles, burning herself as well. Vic tells Tabitha that Wayne hasn’t hung his ornament yet and there’s still time to save him if they can beat the Wraith to Colorado. Tabitha assures Vic that she’ll keep the F.B.I off her back. Tabitha then joins Maggie inside the SUV and breaks up with her. While she loves Maggie more than she’s ever loved anyone, Tabitha wants to live in the real world all the time. Maggie asks about Tabitha’s grandfather, the Santero of Mattapan. "What about the cost of ignoring forces beyond your imagination?: Maggie asks. Tabitha replies that her grandfather, for the most part, lives a normal life with a normal family. She knows Maggie would never be happy living that life, so Tabitha has to let Maggie go. She wants Maggie to be who she truly is. She even offers to drive Maggie to the airport so that she can meet Vic in Colorado.
Welcome to Christmasland[]
Tabitha and Lou hold up in a car, eating fast food, and waiting for Vic and Maggie to return. Tabitha hasn’t had a burger in a decade. She told herself that all the agents had to be "lean and mean." Lou remarks that he should probably quit as well because of his heart stem. He promises he will when Vic and Wayne return. Tabitha agreed to help because of Maggie. When she saw the burns on Maggie’s arm, she told herself that she was done, and yet, she can’t turn away. Lou can relate, given that Vic burned the house down, and he stayed at her side. Though, he questions if that was out of genuine love for Vic or if he was scared of being alone. Nevertheless, Tabitha assures Lou that Vic will return with Wayne and Maggie.
Tabitha goes investigating in the woods after hearing a noise. Lou asks if she sees anything, but she doesn’t. Unbeknownst to Tabitha, Millie Manx had just escaped Christmasland.
Bats[]
Vic returns with Wayne from Christmasland. Tabitha inquires about Maggie, who Vic informs is still in Christmasland. Despite being brought back home, Wayne is still very much a monster, lunging at Tabitha.
While Lou restrains Wayne, Tabitha starts to hear children screaming. Wayne says that it’s Christmasland and runs off. They find him humming Christmas carols and staring at his ornament. Tabitha informs Lou that some people believe that souls can get trapped inside an object. Lou recalls Maggie’s Tiles saying "WHEN SOULS FALL." It must’ve been referring to the ornaments. Lou grabs Wayne while Tabitha smashes his ornament, which appears to cause him pain initially.
Lou comforts Wayne as he pukes uncontrollably whilst Tabitha breaks the remaining ornaments. Lou tells her to stop as he fears that she’s hurting Wayne, but Tabitha believes this to be the only way to save him.
Maggie and Vic then return from Christmasland. Tabitha calls in an ambulance. Just as Vic reveals that Manx is finally dead, the Christmasland children appear from within the trees, human once more. Tabitha then calls in Social Service in addition to the ambulance.
At the Haverhill Public Library, Tabitha gives Maggie her Tiles. She reveals that one of the kids had it at processing. Tabitha has made progress with the kids. Some still have families while the other will be put into foster homes. Some parents bring them back though, because they’re dangerous. Before Tabitha leaves, Maggie tells her that if she ever has a question, she’ll be willing to ask her Tiles. Tabitha simply replies by telling Maggie to take care of herself.
After discovering that Manx’s body turned up in the lake along with the Wraith, Vic, Maggie, Lou, Wayne, Tabitha, and Linda, gathered at the scrapyard to watch the Wraith get compacted after Manx was cremated. Vic surmised that Manx and the Wraith were dumped in Haverhill because it’s where the Shorter Way originated, before her father helped destroy it when she was a kid.
